Freshwater pearls are cultivated in rivers and lakes, while saltwater pearls, called Akoya, are cultivated in the seas of Japan.
How to care for Comete pearls?
If worn often, pearls should be cleaned regularly and professionally restrung once a year. Between cleanings, gently wipe the pearls with a damp cloth.
How much does 1 carat measure?
A stone with a carat weight of 1 Carat, which corresponds to 100 Carat Points, measures 6,4 mm using a caliper. 0.25 Carats corresponds to 4mm, 0.50 to 5,2 mm, 0.75 to 5,8 mm, and finally 1.25 Carats is equivalent to 7mm in diameter and so via.
