Diamonds

Provenance of stones

MURARO LORENZO SPA proudly adheres to the Kimberly Process, an international certification agreement aimed at ensuring that profits from the diamond trade are not used to finance civil wars and do not exploit child labour in the mines. Our diamonds are therefore conflict-free.

The Stones

Comete diamonds

Our natural diamonds are selected one by one thanks to the meticulousness of our master goldsmiths, who choose only the best to guarantee stellar brilliance. Comete has always been known for the high quality standard of its gems, guaranteeing the maximum beauty, preciousness and brilliance of each stone.

The Packaging

A Special Casket

Jewellery is guarded by an elegant casket of refined materials, where colour becomes the absolute protagonist. Comete's exclusive packaging manages to enhance the preciousness of each jewel it holds. Calm, tranquillity and softness are the sensations that are conveyed through the indigo colour and the precious velvet with which they are covered.

Questions and Answers

What cut of diamond does Comete use?

Comete favours the brilliant cut in its JEWELLERY, the cut that most enhances the brilliance and shine of all precious stones.

What purity do Comete Diamonds have?

Our JEWELLERY uses mainly SI Purity and G Colour diamonds. Diamonds often have some tiny imperfections inside them, called inclusions. The clarity scale ranges from F (Flawless = free of imperfections) to I (Included = inclusions). Therefore, SI Clarity for a diamond determines how many tiny imperfections the diamond has, based on the clarity scale. In this specific case, SI is the abbreviation for Small Inclusions and applies to diamonds whose inclusions are small, but visible with a 10x magnifying glass.

Are Comete Diamonds Certified?

In collaboration with the IGI, Italian Gemmological Institute, we offer our consumer a certification of authenticity  and value of the Comete diamond for JEWELLERY with diamonds from 10 Carat Points upwards.

How do I obtain a certificate of authenticity on Comete Diamonds?

To receive Comete's Certificate of Authenticity for diamonds, enter your jewellery code on the diamanti.comete.it  and you can also find out how your jewellery was made.

What is Comete's ethical policy on Diamonds?

Comete is committed to the ethical and sustainable sourcing of materials. The company has long been socially responsible, as well as committed to the environment, and we believe that sourcing our precious metals responsibly is of the utmost importance. Comete has a zero-tolerance policy towards diamonds from conflict countries and only purchases diamonds from mines located in countries participating in the Kimberley Process.

How much is 1 Carat?

A stone of 1 Carat carat, which corresponds to 100 Carat Points, measures 6.4 mm using a calibre. 0.25 Carat corresponds to 4 mm, 0.50 to 5.2 mm, 0.75 to 5.8 mm, finally 1.25 Carat is equivalent to 7 mm in diameter and so on.

What is the Diamond?

Diamonds originate in the Earth's mantle, where the very high pressure conditions necessary for their formation exist. The crystals are brought to the surface, encased in a rock containing a lot of olivine called kimberlite, by volcanic conduits through eruption. This gives rise to the diamond chimneys of the primary deposits. Later, through erosion, the kimberlite can be crushed, releasing the diamonds into secondary deposits, usually alluvial.
